...And the Americans in control of Japan at the time took great strides in making sure that an authoritarian Americanized school system was implemented.
Also, contemporary American sailor uniforms were similar. Less stripes, though. Americans invented the billowy sleeves, but not the silly ties. British Navy invented the stripes-with-overcoat when using it with impressed sailors in the early 1800, after losing the American colonies.
You may have her influences, but those were their influences.

What does any of that have to do with anything? The Americans weren't in charge of Japan when the uniforms were introduced. Japan was, on the other hand, in an alliance with Britain. That the Americans mandated a particular school system a quarter of a century later is completely irrelevant.
That American uniforms looked like English uniforms doesn't actually mean anything either. Lots of things in America look like English things, because America itself used to be English. On the other hand, many, many nations copied the aesthetics (and organization) of the Royal Navy, because the Royal Navy had an awesome reputation.

Fukus were not nationally used until the 50s. Under American rule. At no time was Japan ever not under the thumb of American rule - except before our gunboats rolled into their harbors and during the 30s. Look at the character they use to represent America. It's both god and food.
America the great. And all that entails.

Right, but they were designed in 1920. And since we're talking about their design, your point is irrelevant.Crissa wrote:Fukus were not nationally used until the 50s.

Sure, there was a period following 1854 when Japan was the bitch of every nation with a navy, the U.S. were just the first in the door. But by 1898, all those colonial-style agreements had been dissolved, and Japan was recognized as a world power, not a subservient one. That was right before they beat Russia in a war, so it's not like it was empty, either.
Yeah, I know the character. I also know the implications. Are you sure you do?Crissa wrote:Look at the character they use to represent America. It's both god and food.
Anyway, none of this shit even matters, because your original point (that the uniforms were American) is simply, flatly wrong. I have researched the matter (through multiple independent sources); plus I have spoken to people who were actually there, both during the design and during the post-war occupation. Your ramblings aren't going to convince me unless you cite some actual sources.
My great grandfather was Patton's Driver.
Cuz apparently I gotta break this down for you dense motherfuckers- I'm trans feminine nonbinary. My pronouns are they/them.

You should gain sanity for finding out that the problems of a region are because there are fucking monsters there.
I have no clue. Depending on how he died, he might have.

Well, depends if Horace Woodring is your relative is all... Patton's death is well documented. He drove like a maniac, required it of his drivers, and died the day before returning to the States in an auto accidents.
It's one of the few things I know about the man.

Supposedly both sides of my lineage assisted Cromwell. The Irish side, Quinn, was 'banished' for it.

This got me interested in family history, so I refreshed my memory.
-Turns out that Leod, who fathered Norman and Tarquin that founded the McLeods, was the adopted son of a king called Olaf the Black. I'm pretty sure I can't demand that people call me 'your majesty', but it's cool to know all the same.
-According to both my father and my aunt, a relative may be partly responsible for the introduction of kudzu to the United States. (This is highly notable. Kudzu is everywhere in the Southeastern United States, grows a foot a day during its growing season, and takes a lot of killing. But, on the plus side, it's pretty--look it up in Google images--and it's possible to make ethanol from it.

He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.
